The SEUGA is:
- A not-for-profit organization dedicated to motivating students of universities to lead a healthy lifestyle through the south east university games.
- The organization is the Events Rights Holder and governs the south east university Games.
- A zonal umbrella for member organizations across the south –eastern states of Nigeria.
- An Affiliate the Council member of the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA)
- A zonal association that works with state and federal agencies, educational institutions and corporate Nigeria to better understand and support healthy living amongst students of Nigerian universities in the south –east geopolitical zone.
- SEUGA comprises of all universities (Federal, State and Private) in the South-East Geopolitical zone of Nigeria
